Discover the villages of the Luberon! The Luberon is a mountain massif that stretches between the Alpes de Haute Provence and Vaucluse departments and is home to some of the most beautiful medieval villages in France.
Set out to discover France’s I Luberon ‘s most beautiful villages and explore them surrounded by the flavors of olive oil, wine, candied fruit, and be fascinated by ochre mining.
Program
Day 1: Cucuron
Enjoy a walk in Cucuron, a typical Provencal village in the heart of Luberon. Visit the Château d’Ansouis as well as its French-style gardens. Discover a vineyard designed by renowned architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, which is located in the heart of the Luberon Regional Nature Park.
Day 2: Lourmarin, Bonnieux, Apt, Gargas, Roussilion
Treat yourself to a guided tour of Loumarin, the village recognized as one of the most beautiful in France, as well as the château, the first Renaissance-style castle built in Provence. Visit a 30-acre expanse that is home to olive trees, vineyards, and forests.
Visit Bonnieux, a beautiful hilltop village located opposite the village of Lacoste, north of Luberon. Enjoy a stroll through the streets and then move on to Atp, the candied fruit capital of the world, to visit the candied fruit house, or the European museum dedicated to these products.
Move to Gargas to visit the Bruoux mine, where ochre is extracted, and finally devote yourself to visiting Roussillon, the town that is home to the ochre village and eco-museum.
Day 3: Mènerbes, Gordes
Visit Mènerbes, the truffle house and the lavender museum, which will introduce you to the history of this plant, its properties and qualities. Transfer to Gordes to visit Sènaque Abbey as well as Notre Dame. Enjoy an acropolis built around the Renaissance castle.
Day 4: Les Baux-de-Provence
Transfer to Les Baux-de-Provence to taste the valley’s black and green fruity oil. Later visit the castle and village, also regarded as one of the most beautiful in France.
