Visit a well-known cosmetics company in Manosque, passing food and wine products. Drop by Aubagne to discover the culture of gurus, all the way to soaps in Salon-de-Provence.
Set out to discover the cities that are home to the most diverse flavors of Provence. Our tour begins at the University of Flavors and Fragrances, a training center for aromatic cosmetic and food plants. It continues in a cosmetic workshop and passes through food and wine products, such as oil, truffle, wine, and calisson. It will take you through santoni crafts and finally soap making
Program
Day 1: Forcalquier
The tour begins at the Convent of the Cordilleros, home of the European University of Flavors and Fragrances. This is the only one in France that certifies soapmaker diplomas. The UESS is the center for training and promotion of aromatic, cosmetic and agri-food plants.
Day 2: Mane
Enjoy a tour of a workshop that transforms aloe vera-rich in nutrients-into gels, drinks, and beauty products. Clay and thermal water products are made here. The essential oils institute, on the other hand, is a research unit that will show you the ingredients in perfumes and cosmetics.
Day 3: Manosque
Visit l’Occitane en Provence, a well-known perfume and essential oil company developed on the principles of aromatherapy and phytotherapy. Discover flavors such as oil at the olive ecomuseum and truffles. Finally visit the vineyards of a local winery.
Day 4: Aubagne
Learn about the craft and culture of Provence’s santons, small clay figurines used in Christmas cribs. Enjoy a visit to the workshop and museum. Then move on to Aix-de-Provence to visit a calisson factory and learn about its history and manufacture. This is thanks to the interactive tour of its museum. We then continue to Salon-de-Provence, the capital of oils and soaps, to visit a soap factory.
