Surrounded by vineyards and chestnut trees, Collobrières is known as the chestnut capital of the French Riviera.

Every year, for three Sundays in October, the Chestnut Festival, the most important event in the village, is celebrated.

Collobrières is a French commune, 40 km northeast of Toulon. The village is located in the heart of the Maures massif, situated between the Mediterranean and the hinterland of Provence, more precisely between Fréjus and Hyères in the Var.
Collobrières is famous for being the capital of the chestnut. In fact, the Var chestnut grove is mainly concentrated in the Maures massif, with no less than 2,000 hectares distributed in the municipalities of La Garde-Freinet, Gonfaron, Les Mayons, and Pignans. And Collobrières takes care each year to celebrate the chestnut for three Sundays in October. This is the Chestnut Festival, which brings together producers, artists and artisans, each of whom has been selected according to strict criteria.
If you do not have the opportunity to attend the Chestnut Festival, you can pay a visit to the Confiserie Azuréenne. Established for more than half a century in Collobrières, Confiserie Azuréenne offers its expertise through the production of a multitude of chestnut products dedicated to the most refined gourmets!
The establishment also has a marron glacé museum (free of charge) where you can discover a whole collection of vintage tools and machines that, for many years, made it possible to transform the chestnut fruit into a delicious confectionery product.
Among the many specialties of the house: the unmissable marron glacé, of course, but also the irresistible chestnut ice cream.
