Ancora oggi, la Provenza conserva molte tracce di questa storia.\\\\nDa Marsiglia al Contado Venassino, testimonianze architettoniche e testimonianze culturali raccontano un passato ricco e tumultuoso.\\\\n\\\\nMARSIGLIA\\\\nA Marsiglia, su Rue Breteuil si trova Grand Temple, il pi\u00f9 antico edificio di culto ebraico della citt\u00e0. Inaugurata nel 1864, questa sinagoga in stile romano-bizantino fu costruita su progetto dell'architetto Nathan Salomon. Quindi, prenditi del tempo per visitare il Memoriale dei Campi di Sterminio, ai piedi del Fort Saint-Jean. Dalla sua inaugurazione nel 1995, in occasione del 50\u00b0 anniversario della liberazione dei campi, \u00e8 annessa al Museo di Storia e rende omaggio a Marsiglia, citt\u00e0 rifugio nella zona non occupata. Trasmissione ed educazione sono ormai al centro della vocazione del sito: ci sono laboratori didattici e percorsi tematici aperti a tutti.\\\\nA una decina di chilometri di distanza, prosegui alla scoperta dell'eredit\u00e0 ebraica della Provenza ad Aix-en-Provence, nel centro di Darius Milhaud. Si pu\u00f2 partecipare a visite, proiezioni di documentari o laboratori di lettura.\\\\n\\\\nTARASCONA\\\\nDirezione Tarascona. Da rue du ch\u00e2teau a rue des Halles, l'impronta della presenza dei popoli ebraici in epoca medievale \u00e8 molto marcata, in particolare dal restauro delle case dalle facciate grigie. Uscendo dalla citt\u00e0, una sosta vicino alla cappella di Saint-Gabriel rivela una lapide scritta in ebraico del 1196.\\\\n\\\\nSAINT-R\u00c9MY-DE-PROVENCE\\\\nA Saint-R\u00e9my-de-Provence, il cimitero ebraico costruito all'inizio del XV secolo conserva ancora sessanta tombe che testimoniare la presenza della comunit\u00e0 ebraica.\\\\n\\\\nARLES\\\\nAd Arles, il viaggio prosegue in Rue Dr Fanton, situata nell'antico centro medievale ebraico, e successivamente nel Museon Arlaten, luogo di memoria popolare ebraica. Il museo dipartimentale di Arles Antique ospita pietre funerarie scolpite che rappresentano Abramo.\\\\n\\\\nCONTADO VENESSINO\\\\nSi prosegue nel Contado Venassino, regione storica della Francia.\\\\nA Carpentras, capitale del Contado Venassino, si trova la pi\u00f9 antica sinagoga di Francia ancora in funzione. Costruito nel 1367, \u00e8 oggi classificato come Monumento Storico.\\\\nPoco distante, la Sinagoga di Avignone \u2013 anch'essa indicata come monumento storico \u2013 fu ricostruita dopo un incendio nel 1846. La sua magnifica rotonda, sorretta da colonne bianche, ricorda i templi greci (nessuna visita guidata per rispettare il luogo di preghiera).\\\\nA Cavaillon, la sinagoga ospita il Museo Ebraico Comtadin, \u00e8 una preziosa vetrina per l'arte locale. Diversi circuiti di visite guidate sono stati allestiti in questo edificio dalla forma architettonica unica. From <strong>Marseille<\/strong> to the <strong>Contado Venassin<\/strong>, architectural evidence and cultural vestiges tell of a rich and tumultuous past. Here are the stops to discover <strong>the Jewish heritage of Provence<\/strong>.     <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>MARSEILLE <\/strong><br \/>In Marseille, on Rue Breteuil is Grand Temple, the oldest Jewish house of worship in the city. Inaugurated in 1864, this Roman-Byzantine-style synagogue was built to the design of architect Nathan Salomon. Then, take time to visit the Extermination Camps Memorial, at the foot of Fort Saint-Jean. Since its inauguration in 1995 on the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the camps, it has been attached to the Museum of History and pays tribute to Marseille, a city of refuge in the unoccupied zone. Then join Trets, another important Proven\u00e7al land that is home to Jewish communities. Through rue Paul-Bert, you enter the old Jewish quarter, Carreria Jusatarie. It houses a mysterious medieval vestige: an emblematic facade that appears to be that of an ancient synagogue.      <\/p>\n<p><strong>AIX-EN-PROVENCE <\/strong><br \/>In Aix-en-Provence, the Camp des Milles memorial site pays tribute to the painful history of Jewish communities. During World War II, the site was a detention camp before deportation to the Auschwitz death camps. Many artists and intellectuals were interned at Camp des Milles: Otto Meyerhof, Nobel laureate in medicine, or the pianist-composer Erich Itor Kahn. Transmission and education are now at the heart of the site&#8217;s vocation: there are educational workshops and thematic paths open to all.<br \/>About ten kilometers away, continue to discover the Jewish heritage of Provence in Aix-en-Provence, in the Darius Milhaud Center. You can participate in tours, documentary screenings or reading workshops.    <\/p>\n<p><strong>TARASCONA <\/strong><br \/>Direction Tarascona. From rue du ch\u00e2teau to rue des Halles, the imprint of the presence of Jewish peoples in medieval times is very marked, particularly by the restoration of houses with gray facades. On leaving the town, a stop near the Saint-Gabriel chapel reveals a plaque written in Hebrew from 1196.  <\/p>\n<p><strong>SAINT-R\u00c9MY-DE-PROVENCE <\/strong><br \/>In Saint-R\u00e9my-de-Provence, the Jewish cemetery built in the early 15th century still holds sixty graves that testify to the presence of the Jewish community.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ARLES <\/strong><br \/>In Arles, the journey continues to Rue Dr Fanton, located in the old medieval Jewish center, and then to the Museon Arlaten, a place of Jewish folk memory. The departmental museum of Arles Antique houses carved funerary stones depicting Abraham. <\/p>\n<p>CONTADO <strong>VENASSINO <\/strong><br \/>We continue into the Contado Venassino, a historic region of France.<br \/>In Carpentras, capital of the Contado Venassino, is the oldest synagogue in France still in operation. Built in 1367, it is now listed as a Historic Monument.<br \/>Not far away, the Avignon Synagogue-also listed as a Historic Monument-was rebuilt after a fire in 1846. Its magnificent rotunda, supported by white columns, is reminiscent of Greek temples (no guided tour to respect the place of prayer).  <br \/>In Cavaillon, the synagogue houses the Comtadin Jewish Museum and is a valuable showcase for local art. Several guided tour circuits have been set up in this building with its unique architectural form. Only a turret remains from the Middle Ages as its two overlapping volumes visible today date from its reconstruction between 1772 and 1774.
