Established in 1970, the Rencontres d’Arles<\/strong> is a landmark for photography lovers.<\/span><\/h2>\n

The event takes place between the months of July and September and includes a series of exhibitions scattered throughout the city’s historical and cultural sites.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Rencontres d’Arles<\/strong> is a photography festival held annually between July and September in the small town of Arles<\/strong>, Provence<\/strong>, southern France. The festival<\/a> was founded, in 1970, by photographer Lucien Clergue, writer Michel Tournier and historian Jean-Maurice Rouquette. It is the world’s leading photography festival. This event covers a wide range of contemporary works, with about 40 exhibitions scattered throughout the city’s historical and cultural venues.
