Qui, infatti si trova l'Eden Th\u00e9\u00e2tre. Si tratta del cinema pi\u00f9 antico del mondo esiste ancora. Oggi \u00e8 una sala d\u2019essai, dove si proiettano film d\u2019autore. Quando fu inaugurato, invece, l'Eden Th\u00e9\u00e2tre era un luogo di intrattenimento pi\u00f9 eclettico: aperto il 16 giugno 1889, ospitava spettacoli di variet\u00e0, teatro, music hall, ma anche serate sportive con incontri di pugilato e lotta greco-romana. Sul suo palcoscenico mossero i primi passi future celebrit\u00e0 come Fernandel e Yves Montand.\\nMa la fama dell'Eden Th\u00e9\u00e2tre - e di conseguenza di La Ciotat - \u00e8 dovuta ai fratelli Auguste e Louis Lumi\u00e8re, i quali utilizzarono, per la prima volta, l\u2019Eden come sala cinematografica. Nel gennaio 1896 vi organizzarono la prima proiezione, privata, di un film: una sequenza nella quale un treno arriva alla stazione. Era il famoso \\\"L'arrivo di un treno alla stazione di La Ciotat\\\", cortometraggio che cambi\u00f2 la storia dello spettacolo.\\n\\nLa Ciotat \u00e8 nota per essere la patria della p\u00e9tanque, una specialit\u00e0 dello sport delle bocce. Gioco tipico della Provenza, \u00e8 diventato un simbolo nazionale, tanto da essere proposto come possibile nuova disciplina olimpica per le Olimpiadi di Parigi 2024.\\nLa prima partita ufficiale ebbe luogo nel 1907, dopo che il gioco fu inventato dai fratelli Ernest e Joseph Pitot, per permettere al loro amico Jules Lenoir di continuare a praticare le bocce nonostante i suoi reumatismi.\\nL'obiettivo del gioco \u00e8 quello di segnare dei punti piazzando la propria boccia pi\u00f9 vicina al pallino di quella del proprio avversario.\\nLe gare possono vedere in competizione due squadre di tre o due giocatori (rispettivamente triplette e doublette) o singoli giocatori l'uno contro l'altro (t\u00eate \u00e0 t\u00eate). Here, in fact, is located the<strong>Eden Th\u00e9\u00e2tre<\/strong>. It is the oldest cinema in the world still exists. Today it is an art-house hall, where art films are shown. When it opened, however, the Eden Th\u00e9\u00e2tre was a more eclectic entertainment venue: opened on June 16, 1889, it hosted variety shows, theater, music hall, as well as sports evenings with boxing matches and Greco-Roman wrestling. Future celebrities such as <strong>Fernandel<\/strong> and <strong>Yves Montand<\/strong> took their first steps on its stage.<br \/>But the fame of the Eden Th\u00e9\u00e2tre-and consequently of La Ciotat-is due to the brothers <strong>Auguste and Louis Lumi\u00e8re<\/strong>, who first used the Eden as a movie theater. In January 1896 they organized the first, private screening of a film there: a sequence in which a train arrives at the station. It was the famous<strong>&#8220;The Arrival of a Train at La Ciotat Station<\/strong>,&#8221; a short film that changed the history of entertainment.       <\/span><\/p>\n<p>La Ciotat is known as the home of <strong>p\u00e9tanque<\/strong>, a specialty of the sport of boules. A typical game of Provence, it has become a national symbol, so much so that it is being proposed as a possible new Olympic discipline for the Paris 2024 Olympics.<br \/>The first official game took place in 1907, after the game was invented by the brothers Ernest and Joseph Pitot so that their friend Jules Lenoir could continue to play boules despite his rheumatism.<br \/>The objective of the game is to score points by placing one&#8217;s own bowl closer to the ball than that of one&#8217;s opponent.<br \/>Competitions can pit two teams of three or two players (triplets and doublets, respectively) or individual players against each other (t\u00eate \u00e0 t\u00eate). In teams of three players each has two bowls, while in teams of two or as singles, three.  <\/p>\n<p>Nature is also a protagonist in La Ciotat. In addition to being home to two calanques, you can visit <strong>Mugel<\/strong>, a municipal park and botanical garden listed among the extraordinary gardens of France, and <strong>\u00eele Verte<\/strong>, a small uninhabited island located off the coast of La Ciotat.
